| Chagford swimming
pool is an open air, river fed public pool. The temperature of the water
is maintained with solar pool covers. It is just 10 minutes walk from
Chagford town centre and a few minutes drive from the A30. Car parking
at the pool is limited so please walk or cycle if you can.

The pool has just undergone a major refurbishment costing in the region of £120,000. Improvements in this Phase of redevelopment are as follows:
The pool is open to everyone from 2pm to 5.45pm daily.
Lane swimming is available between 6-7pm most evenings and some lunchtimes
(1-2pm). See noticeboard or phone 01647 432929 for details.
Sessions for special interest groups such as those trying to get fit, ladies only, parents and toddlers are held throughout June and July. Call 01647 432929 for details.
Hire the pool for private parties, barbeques and galas with lifeguard cover.
Special pool for babies and young children for safe play.
Courses
Sub aqua scuba - If you are over 14 try out sub
aqua diving at a trial dive before embarking on an accredited course leading to
an internationally recognised PADI qualification.
Swimming lessons - Whether you are young or old, STA qualified teachers
can start you swimming.
Canoeing - Learn to canoe in a safe environment with qualified teachers.
Suitable for all levels.
Rookie Life Saving - A special course for children over 10 years old
where they can learn to save lives in the water.
Lifeguards - Chagford Pool will be providing training for lifeguards
every year.

Money is now being raised for Phase 2 which will see improvements in the refreshment facilities creating a cafe and office. The changing facilities and water cleaning system will also be upgraded and the aim is to heat the water and reline the pool.
At the pool a no-smoking environment is encouraged.
Alcohol is not allowed but refreshments are available from the Pool shop.
There is always a qualified lifeguard on duty, but children under 8 MUST
be accompanied by an adult.
Children using the paddling pool MUST be supervised by an adult.
